For those who would like to stay on for the Open Mic at 7pm we'll practise the Mentone group song at the RSL from 3:15pm. We'll be performing "Moon River" and the song sheet is attached. You all had your first run through at our "Let's Go To The Movies" session last Thursday and performed admirably so hopefully we'll get a great ensemble together for this week to represent the Mentone sector of LUKES with the performance of this wonderful song that featured in "Breakfast At Tiffany's".
Make a list of your favourite songs from UCSB 2 (grey and green book) and practise them either alone or with friends.
This coming Thursday from 3:45pm we'll have a free and easy session of your choice of songs from the Ukulele Club Song Book number 2, with Peter McDonald being MC for the afternoon.
Work out the songs you feel confident to lead up on the microphones - remember you'll always have others volunteering to join you!
When you arrive, list your songs on the whiteboard and let the wonder of music carry you to all sorts of highs during the afternoon.
Dinner will be at 6pm and then the Open Mic will begin from 7pm for those who would like to stay or perform.
You are all welcome to attend either or both sessions of LUKES at the Mentone RSL this coming Thursday. It looks like it will be a wonderful festival of music.
